I want to tell of my experience with Dr. Rusty Gaffney. I have suffered headaches since I was a teenager. They could be caused by allergies, stress, anxiety, or hormones. At 26, I was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS) for which I would take prescription birth control pills. Over the years I have tried various prescriptions for anxiety, depression, hormonal problems includint PCOS, asthma, and most recetnly migraine headaches. I began getting migraines about 3 years ago and have found n othing t hat would work except staying in bed for 3 days per month. As you can imagine, this was hard on my family and my career. I went to Dr. Gaffney for treatment last December, deperate but skeptical. Dr. Rusty ran urine test for neurotransmitter functions and upon those results I began a regimen of supplements. She also tested me for sensitivities and found I had many. I began acupuncture treatments. Before long, the PCOS symtpoms subsided to the point of no longer needing prescription medication. My anxiety smptoms also subsided noticeably. I went in for an acupuncture treatment during an especially difficult migraine, and within an hour it was gone. It has been 2 months since my last headache, a li fetime record. I am also no longer shaky, my asthma attacks have disappeared, and my feelings for anxiety hav vaished. In my opinion, Dr. Gaffney is a miracle worker!

For the first time EVER I am able to go out to eat without interrogating the waiter about every ingredient used in what i am ordering... which I still didn't believe half the time. I don't have to spend hours at the grocery store reading every ingredient on every package of food I buy. It is truly as though I have been set free! Most importantly, I have an over all sense of peace that I have never known before. It is amazing how things you didn't even know were bothering you can have such a huge impact on your quality of life. I am so glad that my mother found you! Thank you Rusty, from the bottom of my heart! I know you say you are just God's instrument..but I am sure thankful for you! And for the sake of those going through the process ...testimonials were such a wonderful comfort for me. Because of this, I recorded my testimonial slowly, and below is what the process was like...

Why I came to see you...
I would like to thank you for o opening a door to a life I did not think possible! My entire life has been spend avoiding foods, drinks and places because of allergies. At birth my mother said that I was sensitive to everything and therefore not an "easy" child to raise. After an allergy test was analyzed at the age of five (5), they found I was allergic to numerous things, but severally allergic to ALL Dairy and Eggs. At this point, I was taken off all foods that had any remote trace of these things and life did not get much better. However, I continued to have anxiety and other symptoms of which my parents were never able to explain. At a very young age, I would suddenly panic and feel the need to leave a store and go outside for no reason that we understood, and this continued through adulthood. I would feel an overwhelming feeling of nervousness at the most unusual times and never knew why. I have to say I started to question my sanity! After I graduated from college was when things really started to get bad. Believe it or not, even with all these issues, I was a considerably laid-back person and not much bothered me. However, I was suddenly suffering from HORRIBLE panic attacks, heart palpitations (which I had suffered from in the past, but never to this extreme), a racing heart in the middle of the night would wake me out of a deep sleep, crying for no reason..you name it, it started. For a few years my mother and I tried to figure out what was going on. We were both very knowledgeable about natural medicine and I was seeing a chiropractor, and even started natural hormone treatments with an integrative doctor in Tampa. This seemed to help a lot at first as some symptoms started to subside, but overall there was still something not right with me..and we knew that! A couple years after this all started for me, my mother found you and you were able to help her with the many problems she had suffered from all her life. Now, I have to tell you that my entire life I have been PHOBIC of needles, so the idea of acupuncture was beyond an option when she first told me how wonderful this would be for me. I put off considering these treatments for a while, as I just could not see how I would get through them! A couple years went by and I was starting to feel like I needed to live in a bubble. It got to the point where everything was a problem. I never knew when eating a meal if I would have anxiety after, or if my heart would start to race, or if my eyes would swell up (as they had been doing SO often over the past few years). I had to take my own food with me everywhere! I was never able to eat out like a normal person and at company functions; I would smile and pretend like I was full so hat I wouldn't have to explain why I wasn't eating anything. It was a nightmare! I finally realized I had to come see you when I was afraid to go anywhere! I can remember many times when I had to be standing in the mall, and suddenly feel a crushing feeling all around me, and I HAD to get out right then. When I came to see you I was at my wits end! I was an emotional wreck from all that my body was putting me through ..frustration seeming from the fact t hat I had no clue why all this was going on. When I came to see you the list of things I suffered from were the following:Unexplained Anxiety, Panic Attacks, Puffy Eyes, Sinus Congestion, Headaches(Constantly! I literally had a headache for a year straight before I saw you), Racing Heart, Coughing Mucous, Bloating, Tight Chest, Lower Back Pain, unexplained fears and emotions, and I am sure I am forgetting so much more! I cannot tell you how horrible it is to be afraid of EVERYTHIGB that goes in you mouth, or to be afraid of going somewhere with friends for fear of an anxiety attack.

The Treatment and Recovery..
The day my mother brought me in you tested me immediately for sensitivities (knowing much of my history from what she had told you). We found that my body reacted very strongly to 98 things, I recall you telling me that my body basically hated everything! No wonder I felt so horrible!..I even had a horrible sensitivity to Amino Acids-which are HELLO the building blocks of ALL protein! We began treatments immediately, and planned on 6 treatments a week over a two week period..seeing as though I lived out of town. I have to say that 6 visits a week was definitely a roller coaster ride! As you had warned me, I was very tired and felt drained over the days ahead. I cried all the time and went through bouts of anxiety as we eliminated sensitivities. Thank GOD for you (and my parents!) helping me through this and reminding me that my body was going through a lot, and that all these symptoms were normal! There was even a night my mom sat up with me until 2.00AM while I cried and was unable to relax. As Rusty said, "We have your body's attention!" Now you have to know that at this point in my life I was terrified to take any pill for fear of a reaction - so when Rusty gave me bottles of daily regimen, knowing it was important to do this treatment right, and what a difference those pills made! I was even able to stop my supplements for symptoms of Mitral Valve Prolapse..which I had clung onto for dear life in the past few years! THAT was enough for me to realize that something was changing! After a few of the treatments I started to realize that things that had never given me a reaction in the past were starting to give me problems-apparently this was normal since I had not been treated for those items yet and I had so may sensitivities that the overlapping prevented me from knowing what actually caused my symptoms. After a few days of treatment, I got up the courage to eat an egg for the first time in YEARS! I sat at the table watching the clock ..waiting for something to happen, waiting for my heart to start racing, or perhaps I would feel nauseous - but nothing happened! After two weeks of intensive treatments I went home ..a little fearful of what the next few weeks would bring. My first day was our Super Bowl Party..and along with that came FOOD! So for the first time in my life I told myself I was going to eat what I wanted..and that would be a true test! I ate meatballs, dip made with sour cream, cheese, buffalo chicken dip, chocolate, it was UNBELIEVABLE! I called my mother a few times during the party just to tell her what I was eating! And now, six months after treatment I can very honestly say that I am living a completely different life! After 27 years of avoiding ALL Dairy and Eggs..I can now eat these items on a daily basis, and have NO problem with them! I know that over the years ahead my body will continue to heal (as I was told..it took 27 years to get where i am now, it doesn't go away over night!), but I also know that you have changed my life!! Thank you Rusty, from the bottom of my heart!!

For those of you going through this process...BE PATIENT!! It took my body a few months to begin showing real healing ...seeing as though I was sensitive to the entire world! Trust Rusty..she knows what she is doing!!!

When i walked into your office that day, I did not know if I would live or die. I was so weak my husband had to help me walk. I had
been praying to let me find help or let me die quickly. A friend told me about you and from the day I talked to you I had hope.

I had an infection in the colon and the antibiotic they gave me almost killed me. I could eat very little because of the pain in the colon. With the treatments little by little my body improved. I am still improving and I am grateful for all the help I have received.

Dear Dr. Debra Gaffney,
I told you a while ago I would write you at some time about my wheat allergy. Well the time has come when I have done enough testing and time enough has lapsed so I feel comfortable about tell all! I told you to what extent my old body had become old reacting to just a little wheat. I mean just a crumb. I could have a crouton fall into my salad, I could pick it out and a crumb (unseen by me) would be left on my plate. Within one hour my body would be in bed. I would be suffering a lot of symptoms as though I was coming down with a strong case of the flu. I would be belching and have indigestion (which I thought was just a normal "fish stomach") It was not a pretty picture. If you are eating while reading this you may want to stop reading until a more convenient time. (I will spare you of some of the symptoms) On top of all those symptoms the headache, which was usually the first sign is worse than the flu headaches. My body would break out in little red rashes mostly on my back and chest. My head and my groin areas would itch. My mind would loose its ability to think clearly and rationally. (Another good reason for being in bed) When the wheat passed through my system then I was back to normal.

Roberta had been after me to try acupuncture for some time. I had resisted it not only because of the money, but because I did not believe in it. The chef at our hospital frequently will make special dishes just for me that was wheat free. One day about 10 months ago I went through the cafeteria line and the chef came out to the dining area to tell me that he had made the rice from scratch (not the package deals) just for me! I went back into the cafeteria line got some rice, ate it with great delight. With in one hour I was home in bed for the rest of the day! Thinking of course I was coming down with some great plaque I had contracted at the hospital. When it was out of my system (usually takes about 4 to 8 hours. I was feeling fine the next time I saw the chef I asked him what was in the rice. His countenance blanched. He is such a caring kind person. We looked at the spices etc. that he put in -- no wheat. I said, did you put any soy sauce in the rice? He said soy sauce has no wheat in it. I said some soy sauce does have wheat in it. He picked up the gallon jug. We looked on the label - the second ingredient was wheat. I was finally convinced that it was not all in my head and my imagination. I called the acupuncture doctor and made an appointment.

I asked the doctor on my first visit - do I have to have faith in this in order for it to work? She said absolutely not. So, I said OK I am ready to try almost any thing. I am thankful after twelve visits I can eat whole servings of wheat and have just two reactions of all the many that I had before. One is my head will itch like I had dandruff and I will have the little red dots that used to be all over my back and chest. So I am not eating large amounts of wheat again but I can eat some and don't have to be incapacitated for hours. So, if any of you, have the same kinds of reactions to wheat you may want to try to leave wheat out of your system or if you think you cannot live without wheat you may want to try acupuncture. I am thanking the Lord for the gift of better health through ways I never thought possible!!!
Interestingly enough, I was tested by an allergist (the pin prick test they do) and he assured me that I had no wheat allergy? That was a big reason why I thought maybe it was all in my head!

Early this year my back pain began getting worse and worse. My regular personal care and Chiropractor doctors whom I admire and respect greatly didn't seem to be able to help.

My wife and I had decided to travel, drive to Texas to see our daughter and grandchildren. Sadly, I was reluctant to get on the road because I was hurting so badly. Seeing family was wonderful! I had just bought a new full size Grand Marquis Mercury, hoping it would help and it did some, but my pain kept getting worse and worse. It had gotten so bad I could barely walk. I finally had gotten to the point I just didn't know what to do.

I’d like to share that I had been in pain for more than a year and that it kept getting worse. Finally it had gotten unbearable. I had to stand very slowly for fear of what pain I would feel and not knowing of exactly where it would be. It could be my neck, lower back, spine base or even ?? between my shoulder blades. Thank you for restoring me, a 79 plus, lady to good health.

Before my first visit with you in February 2006 I was treated by 6 Doctors and Specialists for 15 months. In that period of time I had 12 medical procedures, blood work and prescriptions for arm and leg pain and a serious sleep problem. All the tests were negative and I was told there was nothing wrong with me.

On my first visit for a consultation I could hardly walk, I had no energy or strength and could not think clearly. In fact I couldn't fill out your Medical Information Forms. You and your staff were so kind and understanding. The first thing you said to me was that I was a very sick lady and my biggest problem was allergies.

After 3 weeks of treatment there was a big improvement in my sleep, my energy level, strength and alertness was completely restored. The arm pain completely gone. The pain in my legs due to a muscle problem caused by Cholesterol medicine took a little longer, but now I no longer use a cane and can once again exercise on the treadmill and other equipment.

Doc Rusty also tested me for my allergy problem and treated me for many things I was sensitive to. These treatments were very successful. I can now come in contact with strong perfume, smoke and other allergens and they no longer make me cough or affect my asthma.

Doc Rusty gave me 1 treatment for Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2 fingers about 2 weeks ago and I have not had a reoccurrence of pain.

I am now on a Maintenance Schedule and enjoying good health, something I had not experienced for many years.

Again a big "Thank You" Rusty. Your Acupuncture treatments have given me new life. All my friends, family and even some Doctors notice the big change.

I turned to Dr. John Gaffney and his wife Rusty for help. Together, they have changed my life. I can now turn my head from side to side thanks to "Doc" and I walk and feel structurally much better. Thanks to Rusty and NAET treatments, I no longer suffer from allergies that were seeming to take over my life before. This is a letter I have been trying to write ever since you cured my severe case of shingles. I wanted you, and everyone else, to know that I was diagnosed with a severe case of shingles. My doctor's office told me that the doctor could give me something to put on the breakout but that I would probably be suffering for about 8 - 12 weeks with this. I called, booked an appointment and you took me into your office and told me that you could knock the shingles out in 4 days. I started feeling relief the very first day. I had been sleeping in a recliner because the pain and itching were so bad. I can't believe how quickly and painlessly acupuncture got me back on my feet. WOW!!! Why don't more people know about this?

I wanted to truly thank "Rusty" Gaffney and her wonderful staff for diagnosing, treating and getting rid of my allergies. Including many allergies I didn't even recognize as such.

Everyday at work I would get a headache across my forehead and a very runny nose. It always started within 15 minutes of getting there. I knew I must be allergic to something in the store. Turned out it was the ink in the printed paper bags we used at the checkout. Rusty treated me for that and now I don't have that problem anymore.

With my curiosity aroused about some other minor ailments, I had her do the whole allergy testing series. Lots of allergies, or rather sensitivities, showed up. After being treated for them, I no longer get a stuffy head when I eat ketchup, or get a bloated tummy when I eat red meat, or get shaky when I eat chocolate, or get a stomach ache when I drink milk, etc, etc!!! And I am not cold all the time anymore either.

Now that my body is rid of those problems I have more energy during the day, sleep more restful at night and have a better sense of overall well-being. And I thought I didn't have any allergies!!! Thank you Rusty from the bottom of my heart.

I have been allergic to cats all my life. Within ten minutes of entering a home with a cat, I would start with itchy eyes and throat, runny nose and sneezing. It was as if I had a full blown cold. I became aware of acupuncture as a possible cure. I must admit I was skeptical but felt it was worth a try. I felt I was sure a candidate for a possible cure.

After 2 treatments, I was headed to my son's house where Tasker (a cat) resided. Usually before arriving at my son Jim's house I would start allergy medication and they would keep the cat in the basement during my stay. I always hated taking the allergy medication because it made me feel drowsy and usually wore off a couple hours before I could take another dose.

Still skeptical, I entered Jim's house and as soon as I sat down Tasker came and sat on my lap. My first instinct was to shoo him off, but I said "well this will be a good test, it will be either a cure or I'll be a basket case". Honestly, it was a cure!! I had a wonderful week and enjoyed holding and petting Tasker, something I never could do before.

I have just finished the basic allergy elimination with Rusty and would like to share a little of my experience. To start off with, I have been on anti depressants for almost 2 years now. I used to have extremely bad allergy problems until I started being treated by Rusty Gaffney. I was to a point where almost everything was bothering my allergies. I have had pneumonia, bronchitis, and sinus infections many times. I also had sinus surgery to remove polyps in my sinuses in January 2001. Although the surgery helped tremendously, I still had severe allergies and they were getting worse. Before I had surgery, I had forgotten what it was like to breath normally. I was feeling extremely tired all of the time and was unable to stay working for the past 7 years. I went for allergy skin tests in November 2001. I almost went into shock from the skin test because my reaction was so bad. I have gone through several, if not almost all, prescription allergy medications. The last one I was taking Allegra 180 mg., worked ok for a while but also began to stop working. Every time I would find a medication that helped my allergies, I would begin to get immune to the medication and it would no longer help me. I was going to start allergy shots, but on the day I was going to start the shots I was again feeling lightheaded which was very common for me due to my allergies (allergic rhinitis). The doctor did not want to chance my reaction and told me to come to start when I was feeling better. I didn't really want to do the shots, but my insurance would pay for it and they wouldn't pay for acupuncture.

I decided I couldn't take it any longer and called to make an appointment with Rusty. In the first few visits I could tell a tremendous difference. Not only did she help with my chronic sinus trouble, but her performance of the acupuncture also helped my emotional well being (depression), energy levels, sex drive, constipation, and most important of all immune problems. Many times my sinus trouble would lead to bronchitis and infections. I was also tired all of the time, from my body fighting off viruses or allergy problems. I used to not be able to be outside for very long (especially Nov. - April). I would be outside for 10 minutes and my nose would clog up. Now, since Rusty helped me, I have spent several hours outside with no problem. Just that by itself is a major accomplishment. I have also been working full time in a very stressful job since September 2001 and I have not even felt like quitting once. I did get sick once or twice before I began acupuncture though. I can even tell that my body is fighting off something right now. Four people in my office currently have the Flu. I am usually the first person to catch anything going around me. I have only been having extremely mild cold symptoms for two days now. It's not going to catch me this time!!!

I even had high sensitivity to some foods. I had no clue that I had this problem until Rusty tested me. I started paying more attention and noticed that my sinuses were mostly clear (not swollen) before I ate certain foods (chicken/bread especially). After I ate these things, my nose would swell up and almost closed. After I was desensitized to eggs and chicken I haven't had the problem since. Same situation goes for chocolate.

I have been so amazed with my progress, that my 5-year old son is now seeing Rusty for his allergies. I hope that by getting him treated early in life that he will grow up without the problems that I had as a child. I am currently even trying to get my sister in KY to come down and get treated. Her depression and allergies are probably twice or three times as bad as mine were!!!

I have been used to being ill and/or with allergy problems for so long that I have to keep correcting myself when talking to friends about things like playing outside with my son, peoples perfume bothering me and many other things. Oh that's right, I can do that now!!! I don't have that allergy problem anymore!!!

Debra Gaffney is one of the finest people that I’ve ever known. She’s kind, loving and caring. Until I met her and was treated by her, I knew nothing but pain, itching and desperation.

I have a severe case of eczema mostly located on my hands and fingers. This condition has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Since I was a child, I remember going to skin specialist after skin specialist only to get shots, ointments, creams, steroids both oral and creams. Most recently in September 2002 one day at work I couldn’t complete any of my administrative tasks. I thought I was going crazy with pain and itching. The skin was very thin, itchy, cracked, bleeding and swollen beyond belief. I couldn’t brush my teeth or hair. It hurt to touch anything. Difficult to even wash my body or get dressed. Driving and holding the steering wheel was a real task and now that I really think about it I can’t believe I put others and myself at safety risk driving on the road. I could not go to the grocery or department stores that I didn’t itch or swell up. Holding or watching my beautiful 3 granddaughters was out of the question. I didn’t want to be near my three grown daughters or husband for that matter. All I could think about was the pain and itching. I was embarrassed even with my own family that I couldn’t control the situation and all I wanted to do was cry or scream. After several acupuncture treatments, some Chinese herbal supplements and conventional antibiotics prescribed by my family physician, relief came. I no longer use steroids in any form of cortisone prescription or over the counter creams. I’ve resumed living, working in my home and profession and just about everything. I still have skin breakouts from time to time but nowhere near what they were. I wish I had pictures to show you the difference.
