Due to a brain aneurysm in March of 1990 my left side and hand have been paralyzed. I began coming in to see Debra (Rusty) Gaffney A.P. in April this year for low back pain, sinus problems, paralysis and pain from spinal stenosis. Approximately 3 weeks ago I asked Rusty if she could help my left hand to open and she said she would work on it along with my regular treatments. My daily life has been severely affected over the past 3 years by recurring bouts of either diverticulitis or irritable bowel syndrome, with occasional severe painful episodes. I had continual problems with nausea, bloating, cramps, fullness and some diarrhea. Regular medical advice was Metamucil and "watch what you eat". I was discouraged about getting better and have a normal daily routine. Following Dr. Gaffney's acupuncture and desensitization treatments, I have had no episodes of irritable bowel and no other gastrointestinal problems. I eat a regular diet. Such a relief. My outlook is now very positive and my life has returned to normal. I can plan things without worry or waiting to see how I might feel on any particular day. I would like to thank my daughter who referred me to Dr. Gaffney's care.

I am now 77 and developed allergies in the late 1980's after living in Florida for about 7 years. In 1996, I had surgery for a deviated septum & sinus. Later I then started having heavy mucous and chronic sinusitis infections 2-3 times a year which required antibiotic treatment. Through the years I sought help from various ENT specialists, tried a variety of prescriptions, nasal sprays, allergy pills, etc., but the problems remained and I was told there was nothing more that could be done. I was miserable constantly and felt the antibiotics I would be required to take to clear the sinusitis could be detrimental to my health. At my wife's urging, I decided to see Dr. Rusty to try the AcuSET / Acupuncture treatment. After 9 of the 12 treatments, I am off the prescribed medicines and my mucous problem has significantly improved. I am hoping the improvement continues and the chronic sinusitis infections & mucous will be a thing of the past.

Because my friend "C" had amazing results with Rusty Gaffney's Acupuncture treatments she suggested I might benefit from them. I was having painful arthritis symptoms in my hands. I also had several lung problems but did not think Acupuncture could help. I was wrong. The treatments helped relieve the pain in my hands but sometimes I would come to my appointment very short of breath. After Rusty's treatments I would be breathing normally again. In April 2009 I went to a walk in clinic and I was given an antibiotic for a bladder infection. I had a really bad allergic reaction from the antibiotic. I had instant insomnia and after 4 days of not sleeping went to the ER, I was given medications to help me sleep and they sent me home. I got worse and worse and suddenly was not able to eat almost everything.

I was only able to eat boiled meats and steamed veggies with butter. I ate the same six foods everyday for months. In three months my weight went from 146 lbs to 119 lbs. I only got out of bed to go to the bathroom. I had to leave my job and my husband has to work from home to take care of me. I couldn't do anything for myself I was so weak.

In July 2009 after going from doctor to doctor and not getting any help a friend who had been to Dr. Debra Gaffney told me about her. I decided to give her a try. It was a 90 minute drive to see her and I will say it was so worth it. From the very beginning Dr. Gaffney was wonderful, so kind and so compassionate. I have never heard of her treatment, but thought it really made sense. She ran a test to see what my body was sensitive to and we found out my body was sensitive to everything, so that is why I feel like I was at deaths door.

Well after the very first treatment I felt almost like my old self. I was absolutely amazed and so was my family. I continued on with all the treatment and found I was getting better and better. I was up and out of bed and I was eating more and more foods every day. I was able to go off the medication for sleep and finally get to sleep on my own. Today I weigh 138 lbs and I can say I am thrilled to have my life back. I will never forget Dr. Gaffney. She is my angle and there is not a day that goes by that I don't appreciate the day I met her.

After a serious illness in 1999, the best thing that could have ever happen to me was to read an article showcasing Rusty Gaffney and her relatively new practice in the field of Acupuncture. I was against a "brick wall" and was told by a doctor at Shands Hospital in Gainesville that my level of improvement would probably not change significantly. I was sentenced to using a walker and was told that this would be necessary for the rest of my life.

At the time I was 54 and could not subject myself to this. I came to Rusty and have been under her careful guidance and expertise since the fall of 1999. I have up and downs, but now I am just about as healthy as any other 65 year old!! No wheel chair, no walker, and complete control over my daily life. I have NO limitations and take care of my rather large house, garden, etc., without assistance. Thank you Rusty for being the Guardian Angel that brought me to the other side of the "brick Wall". I have struggled with a lazy bowel since I was 6 yrs old. I would go two to three days without a bowel movement. In my 30's it wasn't unusual to go 3 or 4 days without one. Over the years I went to several doctors and specialists. Initially they tried to convince me it was "normal: To go 2-3 days without a bowel movement. Later, they simply said they couldn't find anything wrong with me and I needed to improve my diet and increase my exercise.
I tried everything but eventually it got to the point it would be 5, 6, even 7 days before I would have one. No matter what laxatives I took or what I ate. My husband to be (when I finally told him) made an appointment for me with Dr. Rusty which changed my life. Two weeks after I started treatments I was having a BM once a day. I have more energy and overall felt better that I had in years. I recently looked at a picture taken 2 days before my wedding (5 months ago). I was shocked to see how vacant looking my eyes was. Now, I have a sparkle in my eyes and feel wonderful. I have enough energy to enjoy my life and look forward to what is in my future. I am grateful to Dr. Rusty and the care she puts into helping her patients.

Hi, Per your request I am sending you a written request of your acupuncture treatment of my old broken body. I put it in your hands after treating it so bad for the last 70 years.

Recently I have had terrible pain from an arthritic condition I was diagnosed with in the 8th grade. This condition was really aggravated after laying around for over two years recouping from multiple back surgeries. The pain was worse during wet weather conditions and I was ready to move far away from Florida. My daughter, Deborah, was getting good results from your treatment of her allergies and suggested I try it. After some consideration I decided to give it a go. My knowledge of acupuncture was "nada".

On my initial visit you axed the "moving away from FL" and told me you could fix it. Everything I had heard from your previous results with different patients backed up your fit it claim.

When we started the acupuncture treatment not only was I in pain due to the arthritis but my whole body felt like I had the flu. Come to find out the medication I was taking for cholesterol was the culprit. I made the decision to stop the pill and along with the supplements you supplied the problem went away in about two weeks.

I don't recall the number of treatments I have had but the results are as follows – lower arthritic back pain is gone. Severe hand pain is now very little. Sagging lower eye lid that was going to cost me big to fix is no longer sagging. All the sensitivities I had on the initial analysis is now cleared. For over 40 years I've been highly allergic to penicillin, getting itchy, swollen hives whenever exposed to it. In the past decade I became increasingly allergic to more and more things (the causes unknown to me) causing hives, even in my tongue! Then, this past summer the MD allergist mentioned that my bouts with shortness of breath, which were very scary to me, were probably caused by spasms in the bronchial tubes from an allergy! Later, during one of these episodes, I thought I'd "treat" it with a Benadryl-like antihistamine instead of the inhalers and other, harsher medication. It worked! It stopped the spasm and eased the breathing. In that moment I decided to call for an appointment with Dr. Debra "Rusty" Gaffney, having read her book and knowing someone who she'd treated with the AccuSET 10 years ago. My first testing by Dr. "Rusty" showed "sensitivities" to all 98 items except 4! After 2 1/2 months of treatment I was tested again and out of 317 items the allergies were down to 4 and I was immediately treated for them. The next day I stopped all 3 allergy medications, just keeping a prescription on hand at the request of my allergist. It's been a month and I've felt so much better I walked around outside at an art show AND cooked the entire Thanksgiving dinner (turkey was one of the high sensitivities on the first test!) without any reactions - I certainly had a lot to be thankful for! And I am especially thankful for Dr. Rusty sharing this treatment - and in a most delightful and loving environment! Rusty is a God sent miracle worker with her needles and Acuset! I came to Rusty with my immune system completely destroying itself. I couldn't eat anything without having an allergic reaction that got so bad that I didn't have to eat to have a reaction - just a small smell of anything would set off a reaction. I couldn't eat, couldn't be around anything, anyone, and couldn't go anywhere. I was living on water only.

My husband didn't know what to think. At first he thought I didn't want to go anywhere with him. Then when experiencing a reaction to food, he thought I was going crazy. Then when noticing a reaction to nothing at all - just a smell of what?? He just didn't know what to think. When sitting in the house and having a reaction, he utterly could not believe it. He just look at me and say "now what?"

My reaction would start as redness in my face, going down my neck and chest, across my knuckles, up my arms, and down my legs, and would feel like a million fire ants eating me up. Some things would my voice away and I couldn't talk, almost couldn't breathe. It was scary and getting worse each time.

I have all kinds of allergies, therefore to homeopathy and homeopathic remedies, which have saved my live many times. I take Apis 30c at first signs of allergic reactions and keep Benadryl close by just in came. I am even allergic to the Epi-pen which is a lifesaver for most people with bad allergic reactions.

I had a Natural Awakenings magazine lying around and just happened to sit down on day and read it. I came across Rusty's advertisement and called her office. I asked so many questions about everything! I was assured Rusty could help me by using acupuncture and Acuset.

At my first appointment the testing that was done showed allergies and reactions to absolutely everything! No surprise to me. I already knew that I was in bad shape.

Within my first three treatments, I could eat again! I got to the point to where I could eat foods that I had not been able to eat for years! I haven't had any allergic reactions since. Some things still bother me, mostly perfumes, but I don't turn red with fire ants biting me anymore.

During my acupuncture treatments I see the most beautiful healing colors that move around and soothe my body. My eyes have changed to a lower prescription by considerable degrees. I had to buy new glasses. The eye doctor said he has seen acupuncture work this way several times.

At my first appointment, my tongue was hard and "small." I couldn't stick it out past my lips. After several treatments, I noticed that it "loosened up." I could actually stick it out again. It was soft again also.

I am a stage 4 rectal cancer survivor and developed a lot of auto-immune problems, which were getting worse all the time. I believe I would have died without Rusty's treatments. I tell people all the time about how my life has changed for the better with my treatment.

I was under a lot of stress with a 5-year granddaughter who has acute lymphoblastic leukemia and other family members having life changing problems. Stress is a killer!! Rusty's needles calmed all the stress. It was almost unreal how calming and relaxing they make me.

Rusty has saved my life. Thank God for leading her to me. My tests that were done after eight weeks showed a huge difference. I advise people to have here treatments done... they work! Her staff are exceptional also. They are extremely helpful, kind and caring. And I love the rocking chairs she has in her waiting room! The only doctor's office with such a relaxing atmosphere even before you get to see the doc!
