Some patients come for 2 weeks for accelerated treatments. We do 2 treatments a day on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. One treatment in the morning and one treatment in the afternoon.
We conduct the electro dermal screening exam on the first morning to determine the sensitivities. Most patients feel well enough on Tuesday, Thursday and the weekends to do a little of sightseeing.
We are ½ hour from Daytona Beach, 1 hour from the Orlando attractions. There are two small state parks 15 minutes from our office. DeLand has a delightful downtown area – a few minutes walk from here. There is a Holiday Inn (1800 465-4329) and a Comfort Inn (386 736-3100, 1800-424-6423) 5 minutes from our clinic and they offer discounts if you mention that you are my patient and coming in for 2 weeks. There are other hotels around the county. The Chamber of Commerce is 386 734 4331.
The local airport is Daytona Beach (DAB) (flydaytonafirst.com) but they tend to cost more than flying into Orlando (MCO)(orlandoairports.net). Sanford Airport services some cities (orlandosanfordairport.com) (SFB).
It’s easy to drive from the airports to our clinic. Orlando is 1 hour from us off of I -4 – we’re exit 118 (Stetson University), head west 5 miles. We’re across the street from the post office. Our sign says Volusia Center for Complementary Medicine.
My new book is sold to our patients for $15.00 plus tax. We will be happy to send it to you when you call to make your appointments. We will also send the new patient information forms. Please fill them out and return before you arrive. We take credit cards, checks and cash. Most insurance companies do not pay for Acupuncture, Electro-Dermal Screening, homeopathic medicine, herbal medicine or vitamins/minerals. You may need these adjunctive therapies. We will determine that together.
Bring with you any medicines and supplements, some of your household dust (in a plastic baggie). Also saturate a cotton ball with your drinking/tap water and put it in a plastic Ziploc bag. If you have pets bring some of their hair/fur also. Pack all of the above in your suitcase not in your carry on luggage.
